Light rail transit serves to move people long distances across the city, such as commuters from the suburbs to the city center. In contrast, trolleys or streetcars serve to move people within the city center. In a sense, trolleys are pedestrian enhancers. Columbus should continue to encourage development in its city center by building a trolley system. A first priority should be the High Street corridor from German Village to Clintonville. This can also complement other efforts such as bus rapid transit or light rail.
