Could have an adjustable white water course with annual races similar to the St. Joseph River in South Bend, or have an annual antique boat show (like classic car cruise-ins) like the one in Traverse City, or have a park-like riverwalk with a series of small urban waterfalls, pedestrian crossings, fishing spots, and small wetland areas for wildlife. Just a few ideas.
