I represent a start-up company called TransitScreen. We develop visual displays of real-time transportation info, representing all available public transportation options at a given location. Our tool helps travelers evaluate travel options in real-time, and make smart choices for how they get around.
By placing TransitScreens in lobbies and other strategic locations throughout the museum campus, visitors and employes will have improved access to local CTA, Metra, Divvy and shared-use transit options, in real time.
We also offer a solution called SmartWalk, which is a projection based version of TransitSscreen that can be installed on sidewalks, which can include wayfinding information in addition to transit, to help users navigate between museum campus landmarks. I like this idea very much. There is very little information displayed for a person coming to the campus or trying to leave the campus. It is unclear where to get a taxi, what buses stop there, if a trolley can get you back to the heart of downtown, etc.
