Anything we do should increase the functionality of the downtown. I don't support decreasing the amount or proximity of parking. We need more parking, not less! Yes, charming features are wonderful and I'm all for them, but not at the expense of functionality.
Increase parking don't do anything that decreases convenient parking. This will only add more obstacles at an already distracted intersection. Anything to increase parking should be explored this is an unnecessary feature that does nothing for practicality. The Horse trough is the best feature in the center of town that is an iconic feature and should be preserved.

I don't deny that parking is an issue, but opening up the corners and improving the visibility at that intersection would vastly improve the central area, both for drivers and for walkers. I support it.
