Closing off Main St between Crescent and Pennsylvania to create a public square with a fountain in the center that incorporates the horse trough, a few large trees, the addition of bench seating and restaurant seating, could be a wonderful gathering space. Lost parking spaces could be gained with the addition of diagonal parking spaces along both the south and north borders of the plaza. A parking garage at the old McChesney and Miller site would solve other parking issues.
