Working with disadvantaged youth and young adults in the adjacent affordable housing developments, black metropolis convention & tourism council (bmc &tc) and our affiliate organization bronzeville visitor information center is conducting outreach efforts with residents, businesses, civic associations and educational insttitutions along the 35th street commercial business district to create the bronzeville/35th st. illinois main street program to organize and market this emerging commercial business district corridor, as a major african american oriented heritage tourism destination, anchored by the supreme life center located at the gateway to the black metropolis national heritage area, an african american patriots pavillion that connects to the new 35th bridge installation to the lakefront and the burnham wildlife corridor and millennium reserve initiative.

Build awareness of the contributions of "rube" foster to the bronzeville community, the city of chicago, and major league baseball. "rube" foster is recognized as the father of negro league baseball and was inducted into the major league baseball in 1981! bought a house in bronzeville in 1926.

Create a remote/tailgate lot over the existing trailer storage lot south of McCormick Place for Soldier Field events, using the existing 27th Street ME station or McCormick Busway to link remote lot to Soldier Field and Museum Campus, with a new pedestrian overpass to access the Lakefront Trail. Would also serve to stimulate the former Michael Reese Hospital site.
