Ukrainian village is a small neighborhood by west town and bucktown areas. i live at the edge of ukrainian village, and we have many divvy bike rental stations. what ukrainian village doesn't have are a lot of bike lanes. the main east-west streets running through ukrainian village are division street and chicago avenue from western to ashland avenue. i propose to add dedicated bike lanes that are sectioned off area next to the curb on chicago avenue and division street. it would be the sidewalk then the bike lane and parking spaces. we have these types of bike lanes already in other parts of the city. one city that has adapted really good bike ideas is portland oregon. they have set precautions such as buffered bike lanes. if we put these precautions in order here in chicago it could reduce the amount of bike related deaths and injuries.
