This would include new in-fill projects designed to complete the street wall with pedestrian-friendly frontage increase both interest and pedestrian comfort. The addition of trees in the median will help bring the streetscape down to a more human scale as well, while the median itself holds space for a bike lane or eventual transit.

I support but no one will want to live downtown without a grocery store. Build the grocery store and people will come!
Support the downtown market and then watch housing and other bisiness venture revitalize downtown
We should take notes from peoria heights handbook..the same concept could be applied to main street..the infrastructure needs a complete overhaul.
The in-fill median thing with a central bike lane through it might be nice on Washington where it passes the Riverfront Museum. Inalso like the idea of the market and second the need for a grocery stor downtown. I would like it if the grocery store were to be put in the ground floor of one of the existing warehouse buildings as is done in other downtown areas so it fits with the surrounding areas and does not involve us making more unnecessary parking lots.
Or if additional parking is needed put it on the first floor and the grocery store above it.
Creating a boulevard in this capacity could be one of the greatest ROI opportunity for the city. Similar projects in the country come at reasonably "low costs", but increase foot traffic and downtown vibrancy
