Bike share is often overlooked as a form of mass transit. We know that a large portion of Americans view biking as a fun, recreational activity. Yet, we should begin to think outside of this conventional box. Bike share can increase the flexibility of public transportation. Not only does it save time, bike share also expands the parts of a city you can't see through traditional public transportation options. Combined with a growing network of safer bike infrastructure we can begin to move toward seeing bike share as a more modern form of mass transportation.

Columbus is evolving a nice range of mobility options in the city center, and several have cyberpresence - in particular, COTA, Car2Go, CoGo, Uber, Yellow Cab. A smartphone-based mobility app that can suggest multimodal trips that integrate all mobility options would help to make a more livable, sustainable city that is not dominated by automobile traffic.
