Instead of spending money on designated parking spaces for their customers beyond on-street parking, downtown business owners would have the freedom to invest in their products, services, and the spaces in which they sell them. This would also provide an incentive for successful businesses to expand when they otherwise would not have due to the expense and difficulties of creating more off-street parking.
Another way to address the need for off-street parking is “shared parking”. Shared parking can occur when two or more owners of non-residential properties with different peak hours of business use the same off-street parking to meet each of their required parking counts.

Shared parking is highly successful in other cities so no reason it would not work in Antioch.
I love shopping local but if I can't find a parking space within 2 blocks ...
