Could some of the unused portions of the parking garage be converted into some sort of space? Instead of looking empty all the time, it would be nice to have more space for residents. I'm not sure what form it could take depending on how feasible it is, but some sort of vertical green space, daycare facility/co-op, or an indoor play area for children would be cool if it was somehow possible. The slant of the drive would make it accessible, and some portions could get turned into flat steps so furniture could be installed. The green space and more area for gathering/families would make Marina City better fit Goldberg's "city within a city" idea.

I agree the lobby and plaza levels are more important. The parking levels renovations would probably be prohibitively expensive, but since we're brainstorming, I thought I'd throw it out there just in case...
I had occasion to be guided out onto the upper-most area of the parking deck with only the low automobile barriers. It is a massive and exhilarating space, perfect for outdoor aerobic uphill and down hill work, 360 degree views as you move up or down. Railings like the balconies, safety, security—all important but worth brainstorming about. If it belonged to or were leased to MTCA, it would make, at the least, an incredible park-like space to work out in or hang out in. Plantings, lighting, etc would make it a magical park, putting New York’s High Line to shame. William Gibbons

This sounds like a very good idea but maybe too expensive for starters. I think the entry and lobby should be the first projects to work on to make them "first class"..
